We recommend matching this to a clutchmasters flywheel kit with a sprung hub this can alleviate most noise. While this is not usually a problem for the enthusiast, if you are sensitive to noise please be aware of this. This is not-a-defect, but is the nature of the way BMWs transmissions are designed. You will notice the improved performance immediately but a typical side effect is some light "chatter" noise at idle (when the clutch is not depressed). Id almost bet money that its your problem. I think its a bit easier on the E36 though, and you really need to replace the rear-most bushing. I had replaced the shifter bushings and purposely ignored the one thats hardest to reach. PLEASE NOTE: Lightweight flywheels do not have heavy damping like the OE flywheel. I eventually had to hold the shifter up to keep it from falling down.
